I have two "homes" in my Apple Home. My own house and my elderly parents' house.
  • On my iPhone 15 Pro (18.4.1), I only get notifications for things happening at MY house.
  • On my Apple TV 4K (18.4.1), I only get notifications for things happening at MY house.
  • On my M4 MacBook Pro (15.4.1) I also get notifications every time my parents open/close their garage door!
Huh?! I DO NOT want to get HomeKit notifications for anything outside of my house. Regarding my MacBook Pro, why am I getting notifications for the second house?

Location Services is active and working on all devices and I am physically at MY house when these notifications are occurring.

On your M4 MacBook open the Home App go to the garage door icon in the Home App. Click on the icon NOT to open the door but in an open area of the icon.

Select the cog wheel icon (bottom right) and scroll down and select status and notifications. Turn it off if you don't want the notifications. Each Apple device has its own settings those are not universally synced across all devices.

Hope that helps.

That's amazing and unexpected! I had assumed this would kill notifications for my parents too, so that's not a great GUI experience, but the functionality is what I want.

Thank you!
