Notifications need to be manually cleared?

Hi guys,
On my new 2013 MBA my Mac Mail notifications aren't clearing when I read the referenced email. On my MBP (also running ML) notifications would clear if I independently read the messages...

on the air they still appear even though mail "knows" they're marked as read.

I know this isn't a big deal but is there a fix for this?

I don't have a fix for you, but I have the exact machine you do and mine clear when I read them in Mail. I don't see a setting anywhere to change this either way. 😕

thanks for responding! funny enough it cleared on its own when i went into notifications changed it to alerts and then changed it back and now it works.

weird.

oh well - it works now and as I said this was a pretty nit-picky issue...
