Notifications not working

There are some weird things happening with my phone. It's a 14 plus. I don't get notifications from text messages. If someone would text me before my issues when I raise my phone to wake it the notification would be on the screen. Now the only way to see that I got a text is to turn it on to the home screen and see the number notification next to the messages icon. Also whenever I got a text, that conversation would be at the top of all text messages. It doesn't now.

Things I've tried:
All notifications settings are on.
All banner locations are checked.
Tried with silence on and off
I'm running the latest version

Here’s one thing that silences notifications; if your phone is put in sleep focus mode.

You could try changing sleep focus to off if it is on.
