    Question for the Devs.

When I get mail through the Mail.app then check it on my computer, the lock screen notification for that email will go away since it's no longer new.

When using the Gmail app or the Mailbox app, I've noticed that allthough the app badge will update to reflect that I've checked a new mail somewhere else, lock screen notifications will not go away in the same fashion.

I was wondering if this is a limitation for the apps or if it's just the Devs of those apps missing something to cause this to happen.

The app is obviously being told that the message has been read elsewhere since the app badge updates...but why no removal of the notification?

That is because it is backed by active sync most likely and the mail app runs as a background process. Its a special case with apples app.
