ESPN is a weird one with restores. I always have to create a new login with a new email to get push notifications going again after a restore.

Notifications are all over the place for me. It feels like sometimes I'm not even getting them for texts and I haven't received a single one for emails.
EDIT: Looks like the email settings were off for banner/lockscreen so that's why I haven't seen them heh. Messages is still a mystery why sometimes it shows and other times it doesn't.

Here is the problem I think I need someone with someone with app development experience. I restored two separate iPhones from the same backup. Could that cause only one device to receive notifications from third party apps and not the other ? Hope that makes some sense !

Notifications are very inconsistent right now across the board for me.
Can you give me some of your examples. I am really trying to narrow down of it is the app or the restore of an iCloud backup to two devices causing the issue?

What troubleshooting have you done? Have you delete the app in question and re-install them? Have you rebooted it? Is the time correct?

Yes I have in uninstalled and reinstalled some apps. Only some are causing issues I.e the score, CBS sports etc. Even though I use separate accounts on both devices it seems to throw the others off. Which leads to my developer type of question does the device id carry over on am iCloud restore and thats why I can't notifications for some apps? I know it is like finding a needle in a haystack but doing my best to avoid erase and setup as new.

If you have done an iCloud backup, why not set up device as new? When you sign into your account, all your data will resync back to your device. The only difference is that you will need to manually download each app again.

If you search this issue, this has been occurring for years. I have experienced this issue before but never found a solution. I have never restored from iCloud backup since then.

I would recommend to put device into recovery mode and update it using iTunes. If it doesn't work, it's best to restore the device and then sign into iCloud to resync and manually download each app and sign into them.

Chase bank, stock email, Wallet/Apple Card to name a few. I think the problem is my old phone that I did a migration from still had all these apps on it. When I turned that phone on everything showed up. So I’m wiping the old phone to see if that’s the issue.

What about the news apps, ESPN or any other apps. Will you please keep the thread updated. I restored two phone from the same I cloud backup and now can't get notifications on most apps so looking for a solution.

When I signed out of iCloud on the old phone the mail notification badge showed up on my new phone. I’ll do some testing. What’s the status of your old iPhone?

Hmm I guess there goes my theory about two phones being active. In my case I deleted all apps from my old phone, signed out of iCloud, and wiped the phone (old phone). So far that seems to have solved it but I'll see how an entire day goes.

What about third party app notifications. Do they work now ?

So far today I've only had one instance for that and it worked, from the Nest app. I just made an Amazon purchase and got the email right away but I'm waiting to see if I get a notification from Chase for the charge. That email notification, by the way, showed a full preview even though I have one-line preview selected. I'll get back to you after I can test it some more.

It seems taking my old phone out of the equation fixed my issue. Although mail notifications are still messed up but everyone seems to have that problem.

Ok finally got an answer to the problem but not a resolution. When I traded my old phones at the apple store they logged me out of iCloud and find my phone. However they did not erase the old phones. So I have to many devices logged in. Even worse all my info is on those phones. Can't believe I forgot to erase them and they didn't do it as a matter of protocol. Anyone know when they erase traded in phones ?

Has anyone found a resolution to this issue? This is happening to me after doing a device to device data transfer from my X to my 11 Pro. My X was completely wiped before being traded in to Apple, so having 2 devices active isn’t the issue in my case. I have been able to restore notifications from a couple of apps by deleting and reinstalling them. But, others are still not sending push notifications even after doing this.

I’m about to just break down and do a reinstall and set up as a new phone. But I wanted to check in here first and see if there was another solution anyone has found.

I have not found a solution. Will you keep us updated wether a "setup as new" cures the problem.

I don't get any alert (sound) from any push notifications (particularly with mails) when the phone is locked.

on iOS 13.1.2. DND is turned off. phone is not silent, and volume is up.

Has it been fixed yet?

I think I just replied to you in another thread? Anyway, no, not in 13.1.2 or any 13.2.x beta.
