Hi,
I got a November challenge to average 49 exercise minutes per day. I've averaged 67 according to my count, by looking at the daily exercise minutes that have been recorded, but according to Apple, I've only averaged 45minutes.
I've got 1 day left to do a few hours exercise apparently and to boost my numbers!! Anyone know how Apple calculates these figures, cause I can't figure it out. Do they only take a subset of the exercise minutes recorded ? Anything else I'm missing ?

I’ve got the same challenge, and when I total my exercise numbers (available in health app as a list) and divide by 29 it comes back to the same number as the achievement text says.

Interesting - I hadn't looked in the Health app, so just checked, thinking that may help...turns out it agrees with me! 66mins average. Hmmm...

I just missed 140 minutes by about 20 seconds.

Crap mine wanted me to do over 80 min exercise every day, schedule wouldn’t allow that. My Wife’s challenge was to do 62 workouts, impossible also. Not sure how there figuring what each person has to do.

I had a similar challenge a few months back. I was able to meet the higher number by adding variety to my cardio workouts. Logging 15 minutes of rowing and 15 minutes of stairstepping counts as two workouts vs. doing one type for 30 minutes.

I got my Nike watch last week. How do you get challenges? It is based on your individual activity?

Appears to be based on your Workout history. So no history there likely won't be a challenge for a while. Probably takes a few months but as an original :apple:Watch user I can't say how long.

Interestingly enough, my November challenge completely disappeared at around noon on the 30th November. I’m not sure why that would be, as I still had half a day to go. According to the health app, I averaged 68min daily for November. Seems like something is a bit broken with Apple's monthly challenges. Will see how I go with December's...

I should have earned my November Challenge early this morning (burn X amount of calories this month), but I never got it. At about 10pm tonight I checked my total again under the challenge and it magically switched from about 400 calories over that total down to 700+ under that number, right before my eyes. Now the total is no longer climbing…it's just stuck there. Something is definitely wrong with their system.

Well my issue just got way better. So this morning(1st dec), I receive my Dec challenge. Ok, all good so far.

At around lunch time, I get a notification that I have achieved my December challenge. WTF?!
Look on my phone, and not only have I achieved my December challenge, but also my November challenge. I burnt a lot of calories in just 1 day! Crazy...

Mine too. I had to complete 307km and since Thursday last week it was stuck at 279km completed. I did 15km on Friday, 10km on Saturday, 22km on Monday and 10km on Wednesday and it didn't move. And then on Thursday the challenge completely disappeared and I got a new one for December.

Yea Apple seems to be struggling a little with how to integrate the Challenge awards. The other day I had this.:D

I achieved my October target on the 31st but the challenge disappeared without trace; my November target was harder and I was still over a thousand calories off at the end of yesterday but this morning I discover that I’d been awarded it saying I hit the target in the 29th! I don’t appear to have a December challenge though (other than the standard daily move goal one).

I'm really disappointed. My November Challenge was to average 63min of exercise a day. I worked my ass off to hit that goal and yesterday (Nov 30) after finishing my workout it said that I was averaging 63min. I was pumped!!! I went to work and right before I was able to leave I thought I would check to see if I'd gotten my achievement yet.. not only had I not received it, but it said that I had only averaged 56min of exercise this month! I checked my Health App and it says that I have averaged 63min.. so I was so confused. This morning the December Challenge showed up and I didn't receive my November Challenge badge even though I definitely achieved it. Someone from Apple told me sometimes it takes 9 days to appear.. but I've never had any problems with my Apple Watch and achievements for 4-5 months since I've had my watch.

Any suggestions from anyone would be great.. thank you!!

Based on my October experience, I think there’s an issue with these in that if you achieve the target at the end of the month the challenge badge disappears before it realises you’ve achieved it. Once it disappears it won’t come back.

No idea why it hasn’t even bothered setting me a December challenge though!

That's frustrating because based off the November Challenge I got it wouldn't have been awarded until the last day because it was average exercise minutes a day.

Even though it’s a daily average, you can get it early by being ahead of the required average. Effectively it’s a total minutes/month challenge.

The monthly challenges are wildly wacky.

I just got one for December saying I met my move goal twice in November and to try for three times in December. I actually met my move goal 25 times in November. Go figure.

For November I had 2.

1. Achieve move goal every day. Accomplished and awarded.

2. Average 804 active calories burned per day. I was awarded this one on November 26 which was they day I exceeded 24,120 for the month, or the amount I needed over the 30 days to accomplish this average.

For December, I have the same first goal. 2nd goal is a bit tougher - go 147 miles. That’s almost 5 per day. Not likely to happen since I don’t do much outside exercise in winter when the temps are in the teens most of the month.

I do referee basketball, and last night got in almost 6 miles while working 3 rec league games. But that’s not an every day activity so like I said, probably not gonna happen. We will see.

My personal November goal was to do 38 different 15 min workouts with the workout app. I completed it yesterday around 7:30pm, but I never received the achievement either and it disappeared today when the December one was presented.

I had that issue for October and November. But on November 1 and December 1 it gave me the medal for the previous month. I’ve noticed this on multiple devices now (family members). It seems the last day of each month doesn’t count properly, but once the new month rolls over, you get the medal.

Not my experience; my October challenge disappeared without trace. No sign of the medal.

It gave me the November medal though. Shame I didn’t actually earn that one! (At least, as far as I could tell on the 30th I was still about 1,600 calories short; the medal appeared on 1st December and seems to think I earned it on the 29th. All very weird.)
