This is my current one I changed from the stock leopard background the first I had my mac ( classic but everyone uses it) then to the golden palace background I like that one. And I switched today something more personal. The Bahrain WTC!

Interesting article about that on Wikipedia. Blue/red as we know it now wasn't actually standardized until 2000 by Tim Russert; back in the late 70s and 80s, it was mostly the other way around. Prior to that, red was rarely used because it was associated first with Nazis, then with communism.

Whilst it does look quite good, I struggled to see what that clock actually did. Hundreds of people would gather round it every hour and we did a couple of times and it doesn't do anything fantastic...

Aloha Me1000,

I put a disclaimer in my post that obviously wasn't clear enough. I am a red-blooded conservative Southerner (that just happens to live in Hawaii), but chose to change that particular wallpaper's background color to blue, as blue is my favorite color As mrogers pointed out, the red/blue divide was not even created until 2000, so the color really shouldn't make a difference. I just thought to put the disclaimer up so that no one gets confused.

I got most of them from IconFactory and I head to search for a few more at other places. Ended up using the Chrome icon for PeerGuardian and a Safari one for Camino.
