    Come on Apple...Get this working!

2% of MobileMe members cannot access MobileMe Mail. Service will be restored ASAP. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Uh, this works two ways. People who are having problems are sick of others telling them to quit whining about a service they PAID for that STILL isn't working. Things may be working for you, but at what point is okay to whine - when this brilliant software deletes all all your contacts like it did to me? Fortunately I backed everything up before trying it so I didn't lose anything. Is it okay to whine when I can't sync anything from my work laptop running Outlook to the cloud? How about when Apple backpedals about what push really means - is that okay to whine about that? Sorry, but people get very irritated when they are misled and sold a sloppy piece of garbage that is right up there with WindowsME in quality. And when I read on the Apple support forums today that Apple is now telling people struggling to sync calendars and contacts that the MobileMe won't work with a computer using Outlook and Exchange, it really pisses me off and gets me in the mood for some drama.

it's not a sloppy piece of garbage as you so idiotically state. people like you peeve me off so much. it's a NEW damn product and only 1% of the people are having issues. that's pretty damn good if you ask me. sorry your data was erased and/or lost....but that's why they invented time machine or other data management/backup functions.

get off your high horse thinking that because YOU have an issue, then you need to try and ramp up a million man march against MM. it's ONE-FREAKING-PERCENT! not 2, not 3, not 4%.......just 1%. every product out in the damn economy has at least a 1% margin of error. MM is no different.

All 4 of my friends who use MobileMe were unable to access their email today for a lot of the day and this has gone on for a few days now

Absolute disaster for them as they need their .me email quite badly for work

wow, i'm really sorry. they must be some of the unlucky 1%.

on a positive note thought, all 53 friends of mine are running MM flawlessly.

hopefully Apple gets the bugs worked out soon for all the 1%ers.

    Somehow, I doubt that

Judging by the ridiculous amount of people seeing failures on every Mac forum on the net, I would venture to say it is much, MUCH higher than 1%

I highly doubt this. Most users will not log into a forum to praise a product, you will only hear about the people having problems. These forums only represent a tiny portion of mac and mobileme users.

and that is where your argument fails.

    - What percentage of the MM community actively participates on Mac forums?
    - What percentage of that group, who haven't had any problems with MM, would take the time out to post so?
    - What percentage of people on every Mac forum are in fact, the same person? Seeing that you have been on several, (and likely have been posting on several), you have to think others have as well.

My apologies that you are having problems, but 1% is about right.

i think i'll listen to the actual company that created and runs MM than someone's opinion about statistics on MacRumors. nothing personal...

    1% it is

The only thing failing at the moment is MobileMe's consistency

The fact that this forum has seen hundreds of complaints in the last 2 days probably and AppleInsider and countless other forums are seeing the same thing shows this isn't some isolated problem with just a few people having trouble.

If Apple wants to claim 1% is failing, so be it.

    But the facts show otherwise.

If people want to ignore how poor it has been especially in the last 2 days alone where people are completely unable to access their email for hours on end, well, I guess it wouldn't shock me as some just refuse to live in the here and now world

None taken. We have been told plenty in the last few weeks that has been in the end found to be incorrect or untrue. The fact that some will believe anything and everything isn't a surprise

Apple is a great company and I will continue buying from them but this has been their first big mess up at least since I have been with them

Ouch! Zinger! That's it. You win. I give up.

You are once again overestimating the size of the mac forum community in relation to the MM community. See my previous post.

Please cite said facts. Hundreds of posts on MacRumors does not count.

Again, my apologies that you are having problems. I'm sure if I had those problems I would be frustrated to. Though hopefully I would find a better way to handle said frustration and deal with the problem then freaking out everytime the percentage of users down ticked up.

Of course you don't want them to count. To you, they must be made up or just don't really exist

But when hundreds of people are on here alone complaining and other popular forums have the same amount of threads complaining, it is obvious to anyone that this isn't a 1% issue but one affecting many others

I have no idea if it is 10% or 20% but it sure as hell isn't 1%

I am not freaking out. Not in the least. I am just stating the facts of how piss poor the service has been (check Apples apology emails....how many are we on now? 3?)

If you want to believe that this is an isolated problem and that it really isn't effecting many people, you must really gloss over this forum on a daily basis

::sigh:: I was wondering when we would reach hypocrisy, and we finally hve.

You sit here telling me that I'm not allowed to discredit your claims that hundreds of people are complaining about it on here, so that must equal 10%, when you're not allowing me to use Apple's official number? Give me a break.

The 1% figure is NOT the number of people having problems, it's the number of people who cannot get their email. There are many, many other problems besides that one. I pity the people who used their .Mac email addresses for work and who now are cut off from the rest of the world. I'd venture to say from your sanctimonious tone that you would be screaming bloody murder if your email was down and it affected your work.

And thank goodness I used it before loading this beta-quality software because it saved me.

Again, the 1% is for email, not MM problems. Since Apple barely even acknowledges there are issues, we have no idea of what the percentage really is, but since it contains every single person using Outlook and Exchange (since that doesn't work for anybody), the number is assuredly much, much higher. Overload servers and spotty up time the first day or two are things most people could live with as start up pains. But it amazingly appears as if they never even tested basic syncing functionality with the biggest email server on the planet - that is mind blowing. And this from the company mocking Microsoft's Active-Stink at the roll out. I won't even get into the outrage people felt over the instant push vs up to 15 minutes or the people in Great Britain getting the credit cards charged, but they all add up to a product that was rushed out the door to meet the iPhone launch, not when it was ready.

I'm sure that eventually they'll work the kinks out. We'll see how long it takes and how many people give up on it before they do. Of course, if they can't make syncing with Exchange work (and their are reports are their forums that their support people are now starting to tell people it won't be supported) than a large chunk of people won't be able to use it. But, hey, since you aren't having problems, feel free to trumpet to the world how great it is.

The "actual company that created and runs MM" is the actual company that told you this was a push service. It's the same actual company that told you that everything was super and everything was working. It's the same actualy company that states on MM site that "all services are up and functional".

Then the same actual company has had to change the description of its product on its corporate website, it has had to send an apology letter, and then another one because they charged 200$ your credit card. Then it said that 1% of the users can't access mail, and then 2%. Then it's saying that this thing, guess what, can't sync with your outlook if by chance you are one of the very few people in this world that have a corporate pc set up with outlook. Then this same company is sending its users, after 5 days of waiting, answers to their letters asking for support: and you know what they say? "Thank you for waiting, go into our website and check how we explain how to sync in the guided tour".

I love Apple, but to defend this crap you must be simply fanatic and blind. If Microsoft did something like this you would be laughing and jumping at how dumb they are.

    Actually

I got MM day one (almost two Friday's ago)... since then I have had me.com webmail for 1.5 days in the middle of last week. . . Thta is unaceptable in any way shape or form.

I don't think its a piece of s**t, however I do think that if you buy something and it fails to perform you have the right to vent - especially with something as important as email.

If this where a shop bought product like say a Hi Fi we would have had a refund / replacement by now.

While its all fine and dandy for you sir. I personally cannot access any of my emails which I need to complete a huge design project thus losing me considerable amounts of money. If you also factor in I have paid for this so called service many of the people affected have a right to be pissed. You do not have the right to attack other people. If you are fed up of people complaining about a service they have paid for and are not receiving, stop reading the threads and posting in them.

As annoying as it is that I am unable to see my mail today - I am willing to let Apple do what is necessary to fix the problems...

its got to be better to let them fix the damm thing than keep having it up/down/up/down!

I do understand the frustration of people

It will be working soon I am sure and this whole fiasco will soon be "do you remember when they launched Mobile Me!"

It doesnt matter if 1% or .0001% people are affected... the point is that even these people who've paid $99 have full right to access their mail at any time and any where they want! If its not working for them then this is a free forum and they have full authority to whine about mme or curse Apple as much as they want!

All comments are highly appreciated but such rudeness (see above and you'll find who) isnt! Thats a poor chap who's irritated that MMe's working for everybody except him/her and so s/he comes to the forum to discuss this!

P.S.: Everything works for me for now!
