I’m desesperatly looking for a 24’ monitor as good as the iMac one but can’t find any. None has the 218 dpi and of course none has the gorgeous design of the iMac.

Apple could make a hit with a « small » affordable quality monitor who would compliment the Neo, the Mac Mini or the MacBook Air

Really wish they have this in mind in the very near future !

That would be sweet but there is no way they would make it. It would have to be terrible to not risk undercutting Studio Display sales.
Agree - Studio Display is the de-facto standard in size these days.

27" is the minimum I would buy.
I run dual 27" on my Mac Studio.

At work I use a 32" 4K so going smaller like 24" is backwards for me.

For people doing basic stuff like writing, web browsing, office work, indeed 24’ is really confortable. You can work with 2 windows side by site. The other advantage is that the display is much easier to move.
And obviously it’s much better than 13’

Ok, in case Tim Apple is reading this...

What would be a reasonable price? Keep in mind, Retina display, charge through display, maybe a 1080p camera like the Neo, decent speakers.

The Studio Display with Center Stage camera, 5 ports, and studio quality mics and speakers is $1,600. I want to say the 24" LED Cinema Display was about $1k when it launched.

The current iMac starts at $1,300 at 24" and Center Stage camera.

I think about $700 would be a good price.

I don't see this as a need for Neo, but Apple in general should offer what they used to. I remember buying a 4K 24 inch monitor from the Apple Store a few years back. They stopped selling this when they launched the very expensive displays. But most people who are looking just want a similar quality experience to the portable screen and don't need a full video Studio Display.

Apple definitely needs a monitor under the price of the Studio Display. I am surprised they didn't introduce this with the M1 Mini. People are not going to spend double the price of their mini on a monitor.

There's no business case for this. Again, a lot people don't understand the target for Neo. These are Gen Z and Gen Alpha customers who grew up doing 90% of their work on a smartphone and 10% on a notebook. These customers are not buying a desktop replacement computer, which is what a monitor is for.

Apple's goal for Neo is to be a Trojan horse and further lock customers into the Apple ecosystem. Most importantly, Neo customers are not going to spend $300 or $500 on a monitor, especially when the computer is only $599.

Then I must be the outlier for the Neo.

Gen: Boomer.
Smartphone: 10% Air
Notebook: 40% Neo, MBA, MBP
Desktop: 50% Apple Studio Max & iMac
Display: $1500 Apple Studio Display

I think it's safe to say we're all outliers posting in this forum.

Look at how Apple markets the Neo: "Welcome to the family." The low price is accessible to more customers so they can buy their first Mac. You've been in the Mac family for so long, you've basically had grandchildren, and established a charity foundation under your name!

I have to agree with @filmbuff on this.

Displays are mostly a commodities market and Apple doesn't play in any arena where margins can't be maintained. The big enabler for the MacBook NEO is that they don't have to buy the chips from Intel, they use in-house designs instead. Oh - and it's one they repurposed from elsewhere i.e. binned iPhone CPUs!

It's highly unlikely we would see something like this. Then again, I never thought I'd see a NEO so there is hope!
