Now I am pretty sure new Macbook Pros are coming sooner than later

There are no official Apple stores here, but there are few major stores which sell them. One of the largest ones, sells many more things than Apple products, just announced a huge (for them) 12% sale on Macbook Pros. The only time they have them on sale is when they are trying to get rid of stock.
Now I have no doubt the new ones will be released at the latest in October.

I agree we will see a refresh somewhere around October, but you have to remember, it's back to school season and a lot of major big box retailers are discounting MacBook Pro's. It's not uncommon to see reduction in this time of the year. You never know though.

They might be discounting them because they are an old model (despite being the current one) rather than because they expect a new one.
