It's been out for awhile now. All the reviews are in. We pretty much know all the good and bad of it. For some it's already capable of doing everything they need it to do, for others it's sorely lacking.

For me, now it's wait and see.

In it's current state the iPad Pro is what it is, a really great tablet, plenty of power in reserve, a fantastic example of what can be done with todays technology. But, it's 'full potential' is hamstrung by a maturing iOS and fledgling iOS 'pro' app market.

What do the Apple product developers already have planned in roadmap for the future? What will iOS 10 (X:eek:) be capable of bringing to the iPP? What fully Pro apps are in the works? Dunno.

Unless my old 2008 MBP craps out, I won't be buying an iPP, just yet.

Anyone else holding out?

For me, I have already found an awesome app that delivers unique features and utility of the Pencil that NO devices in the market could match today.

I would have never discovered it if I didn't buy the iPP and researched for the apps.

What's the app?

Goodnotes 4 for teaching. It hides the user interface whEn projecting the document to TV out, and allowing us to run a second app at the same time. The app also only accept inking with pencil, and touch for eraser.

What do you want it to do?
Me ? Nothing. The iPad pro isn't a product designed for me. But its full potential isn't exploited by iOS 9, that see it basically like a bigger iPad Air. I think we are going to see many improvements in iOS 10.
Same for the apps. So far apps are developed with iPads Air and Mini in mind, and limited resources (the 2 Gb of RAM of the last generation aren't exploited, all the apps run on 1 Gb or less devices).

I wonder if Apple will go "all pro" sometime in the near future and release iPad Pro versions of Final Cut or Premiere. Movie works fine for light editing which is all I need but for those digital media professionals who are looking for a pro tablet it might tip the scale.

The killer App for me on the Pro is Goodnotes. At work I have been using paper notepads going back 30+ years in meetings and annotating papers, stacks of them in my office. The integration of the pencil as a writing and diagram tool into note taking means I will have all the notes with me from now on. I tried once before to convert to digital ink, but without the pencil integration it was not there.

And your point is?

The iPP could certainly use a lot more apps targeting the big screen and Pencil. But all it takes is the one or two favourite apps to improve one's experience on it. And you will not discover them unless you have the iPad.
