Having an iPad would be nice, but I have a Nexus 7 and I rarely use it. Most of the time I just use my iPhone 5 for the lazy things. I don't need another iOS device. I almost got an iPad 4th gen last Christmas, but decided otherwise. I need a mobile computer, something that can do more than iOS.

Since one of the arguments for getting a MBA is that its small and portable. I would get the 11 since its smaller and more portable. The 13 has a huge footprint.

Ummmmm, no.

I put the 11" on top of the 13" at the store, and yes of course it is larger, but short of a huge cargo pants pocket, there are few places an 11" can go that a 13" can't. The difference length and wide wise is not that big, but the difference in screen real estate and battery life is indeed "huge".

I would buy the 11 if portability was my main purpose. Its plenty big for me, 9 hours plus battery, a few more pixels, and its cheaper. I hate that it doesn't have a sd card reader though.
