It would never happen in the states, though. People would be terrified of getting sued by people who don't know how to properly go down a slide.

I remember when I took my son to a pool that had a relatively tame tube slide. He kept pestering me to go down it with him, and finally I made myself do it - for his sake. I was terrified the whole way, it felt like a death wish, I just couldn't understand why anyone would do it on purpose. When we splashed out, and I was telling myself "NEVER again", he turned to me with pure pleasure on his face, and said, "SEE, wasn't that FUN?!" The poor little guy only wanted me to experience the wonderful slide, and every atom inside me was screaming to get off it.

Aww, that's so sweet. I think I may have done a similar thing to my mum on a rollercoaster; and it was because I knew she'd love it, how could she not?! I wanted her to see how totally cool it was. I don't think she's been on one since though.
