The problem got solved, thank you all for your help. I will explain what I was doing wrong.

I did a test with the Cocoa App on the Mac, not IOS, and I copied a file from one directory to another, no problems. But working in the IOS all files that you work with have to be imported into the project before use! I could not try to link to them on the hard drive, but first had to drag them in to the project and select import or copy to project. It seems that the iPhone is it's own Eco system and in order to work with objects I have to bring all of them in to the iPhone to test.

So all the help I was getting here was right. I just did not prep the file to use it for the IOS by dragging it in first. I hope this solves the problem for anyone else searching to this answer. Took me 3 days to discover that,ahhh.
