HELP!

Old windows computer of mine still has data on it that I need. System is infected with trojans. HD placed in housing.

Tried to use several programs (NTSF-3G etc.) and terminal to mount, but external still won't show up.

Is the HD simply beyond retrieval or am I just not trying hard enough? Any suggestions? Help please!!

You should have been able to access it without any additional drivers on any Intel Mac running 10.4 or later.

Have you looked at Disk Utility to see what it sees?

Post screenshots and we may be able to help.

Usually Trojans do not affect data files. You might wanna plug this back into the pc, run a few virus and spyware programs to clean it up. Then copy the data to another external, and run a check on that external in a bootcamp Mac to make sure data is good. Then wipe the original pc drive and reinstall windows.
