I read that MacOs can only read but not write to a NTFS drive...is this correct?

I have a pc network with about 8 harddrives full of stuff, all in NTFS format...will my new Mac (which iv not got yet) be able to read/write files on the network?

cheers

YES of course. The Mac OS X cannot directly write to a NTFS formatted partition, but can read AND write NFS or SMB distant shares ;)
