Nuevasync is really cool - recently I've had a small problem though. When I sync my gmail contacts, there are "sqaures" (kinda like this: ❏) in the spaces between first and last names, as if it's registering spaces wrong or something?

I've tried resyncing and re-enabling via the site, and turning on and off on
the iPhone. When viewing in gmail the contacts look fine, and there are no
"invisible" spaces behind the names or anything. I have gmail syncing with
Address Book on my Mac, and there are no ekstra spaces there either. If I
manually edit the contacts on the iPhone I can erase them with the backspace
key and they seem to stay gone. Just too many contacts to do that with!

Anyone seen this? Happens both on my iPhone and iPod touch.

Sorry but I can't say I have. I used it about a month ago to sync my contacts to gmail when I was setting up my G1 (don't flame me :( i still use my iPhone a lot) and I never saw an issue. Is the iPhone configured for English or something else? What about Gmail? What locale are you in, it would appear to be a problem with the encoding (UTF-8 etc. not sure wat the iPhone typically uses or if it changes between languages). Hope this helps a little!
