I use office08 for excel...some of the boxes i use are formmated so when i enter the date say 22feb hit enter, it corrects it to read Feb. 22.

When i import into numbers, and try to do it, there is no foramt for that cell, i type 22feb, and that s what shows in the cell, Is there a way of formatting these to do the way the excel spreedsheet works?

If I understand you correctly. . . You can format from the tool bar. Use the the drop down list found at the end of the format boxes (1.0, $, %, etc). You can select date from this list.

However, the easiest way for what you want is probably to use the Inspector window. From there you can assign a custom date format that should auto correct entries like yours, but you may have to put a space between the day and month. (I just tested what I think you are trying to do, and I got 22 feb to auto format, but 22feb would not.)

I think you solved my problem. Thank you very much... a simple space corrected everything...thx again.
