Numbers under User's name

    I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I wasn't sure what to search for. What do the numbers under a some Macrumors forums usernames mean? Its in place of "Macrumors Member" and says for example "Macrumors 68000".

    Those are our usertitles, and they're (in general) based on Apple processors of yore.

    Why are they G3, G4, and G5 instead of 750, 7400 and 970?

    Oh thats neat, I wondered where the numbers came from.

    Edit: Oh come on SURELY I have to be getting close to 601!
