Numbers Update Isn't Working

When I open Numbers it tells me that there's an update and I should go to the App Store and update it.
But when trying to update in the App Store nothing happens but a spinning icon in the top left of the App Store.
Numbers is version 3.6.2
My OSx is 10.11.6

The updated version of Numbers it says I need to update to is 4.0.5

You need Sierra (10.12) to get it. Highly annoying.
