If I install El Capitan on this machine should it work without have to find drivers? I'm currently using Yosemite.

I have not read about any issues with GK107 GT 630s. The only one that seems to have stopped working in Sierra is the GT 610.

I've been working on a Mac Pro GPU compatibility list (like my CPU one). So far it's been much, MUCH harder, and a long slog too.

Posts like this really throw me. A lot of the table is built from assumptions. For example, at first I had all Keplers supported by native drivers. But I found out there are at least two kinds of Keplers, and one kind needs the same web drivers as the Maxwells. Now I see there's at least one Kepler, the 610, that doesn't work for mysterious reasons in Sierra.

I'm starting to think it is impossible to have correct and complete data. I could instead wipe out all of the data that are my assumptions and only incorporate verified data. But people don't really bother to come here and say things like "yep, my HD6850 still works in El Cap", so the table would be almost entirely blank and therefore useless.

Also it's pretty easy to figure out which versions of OSX started to support a card. But it's difficult to find out which cards are no longer supported at a certain point. I didn't even think that was a thing with Apple, but I see now with the 610 that it is.

Maybe I put up what I have as a draft and ask the community to help correct it and fill it in with their personal experiences and knowledge. Maybe use bold text to show the difference between assumptions and verified data.

Or maybe it is an impossible task to come up with something useful. Not sure.

A list like this would be fantastic for both Mac Pro users and the hackintosh community. It would be a pretty big undertaking... I would suggest tapping not just Mac Pro users but also hackintosh users for confirmation of working cards.

I think that it's pretty safe to assume 600-series Kepler cards to be compatible except for the GT 610. Things get a little murkier once we get to the 700-series. Some 700-series Kepler cards work out of the box with Apple built-in drivers and some don't (i.e. GK110B).

I think putting up what you currently have and correcting it along the way would be most effective. Adding a "confirmed" field would be helpful for those looking to purchase a card.
