I tried searching the forum posts but did not find this one.

I'm looking at buying the 21" iMac and trying to decide between the 2 models.

The cheaper model has the smaller hard drive, but 500 gigs is plenty for me.

My only concern is the nvidia 9400 graphics.

I don't play games on my mac. I mainly use it for the usual - internet, email, iWork, MS Office and iLife. Probably the most graphics intensive thing I do is iMovie.

will the cheaper iMac do me?

Thanks.

2nd question

I can save $200 0n the cheaper Imac and $250 on the more expensive one, by buying it refurbished from Apple.

the refurbs on the 9400m iMac are cracking good value for money if you dont need the graphics card (i also have a 9400M in mine and its fine for day to day things) or bigger hard disc. remember the refurbs go through full checks and cleaning, you also get the 1 year warrenty and can still buy apple care if you want 🙂

If you are even remotely interested in playing games, then by all means don't get the lower-end iMac with only the 9400m. You mightn't play them now, but you might later...
