Nvidia 9400M

    The new iMac and Minis have this new graphic processor.
    How is the performance for doing video (FCP/AE/Motion, etc)?
    I'm looking at purchasing a new comp.

    It might be a while until you get those exact answers. If the Macworld table is an indicator you can expect those to be much more useable. The thing is, I wonder if Apple has qualified the mini for use with FCP and especially Motion.

    Thanks for that link. Yeah, i was wondering. They have this in the Macbooks and that has been out for a while. This chip is integrated with the memory instead of a standalone right?

    The last Imac is a bit slower but it has the ATI PRO which is not intergrated with 2Gb instead of the current 4Gb. I'm wondering about the tradeoffs.

    Correct.

    Check the software product pages for more answers. I would expect FCP to run fine on the new mini, but Motion and Color would be the big questions. You still might have to hack the install as Apple the couple of years have been known to put install blocks in for 'lower' hardware.
