HP's willing to send out parts, as well as offer on site warranties as well (consumer and enterprise systems). Apple really doesn't do this, as they only seem to be willing to send someone out in cases of 50+ miles from a store (and may have other conditions as well, or at least try to make it difficult on the user, as if they're doing them "a BIG favor"). If the user is closer, they tell them to bring it in. Turn-around time seems long to me as well.
I've always noticed this attitude from Apple's support in general. I've called up Dell and they go head over heals with their business support but Apple makes acts like it's such a big favor for me. I paid for the support, don't be obnoxious about it.

The Genius Bar is almost as bad. Show any signs of intelligence and they look down on you. You come in as a hapless user and the treat is so different. I just go in now acting hapless and the treatment is great.

I get great support from Dell on the enterprise side. It's been mixed with the consumer end. But if you have a business account, even if it wasn't used to purchase the specific machine in question, you still get the business/enterprise end for support, and are well taken care of. :)

I figure a lot of what's going on in the Apple stores has to do with the employees. Young combined with a "full of themselves/know more than anyone that comes through the door" attitude. Unfortunately, that seems to be the type Apple attracts (or perhaps wants), as they are willing to drink Steve's "Special Blend" Kool Aid without thinking for themselves first. :p

Why do you people even reply to MosX? He's a known TROLL. He's admitted to not liking Macs and uses Windows exclusively and has said before he only comes on here to "educate" Mac people in how stupid they are to not use Windows. If that's not the definition of a troll, I don't know what is. Why else would you go onto a Mac forum when you don't even use a Mac and have no interest in ever using a Mac??? More to the point, what kind of non-life would you have to have to do that in the first place? Those of you attempting to "discuss" anything with him are completely wasting your breath and time.

I'm breathing?

I'm breathing?

Well, if you're not, you're either dead or a robot. :p

More likely, you simply don't get an expression when you see one and would prefer being told you're wasting away your fingers. OTOH, you could be using voice recognition software for all I know. Either way, it was a freaky reply.... Should I get out a Sponge Bob picture now?
