As a follow-up to last year's thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/nvidia-hit-with-false-advertising-suit-over-gtx-970-performance.1849101/#post-20748978) about falls advertising claims from Nvidia regarding the GTX-970's memory, today I received an email from Newegg about a settlement. The email reads:

We have been informed about a class action lawsuit settlement with NVIDIA regarding the GTX 970 graphics card. Newegg is currently awaiting details about the settlement claims process (instructions, website). Once we have this important information, we will send you a follow-up email with the specifics on how you can submit your claim.

If you have any questions regarding the information provided in this email, please don't hesitate to contact Newegg Customer Service through one of the convenient contact methods provided here.

    Sincerely,
    Your Newegg Customer Support Team

I got the same email, except for my GTX 980 instead of a 970. I understand the false advertising bit about the 970, but I wasn't aware of any false advertising about the 980. Newegg's full list of affected cards includes the 960 as well.

Even more strange, some AMD R9 cards are listed too, which I cannot imagine would be part of an Nvidia class action suit. So I don't know what's going on.

Just got a followup email from Newegg. The GTX 980 email I received earlier was sent in error. There is no lawsuit associated with that model.
