Not much. Apple only needs the license which Nvidia will be obligated to keep licensing.
NVidia making CPUs, Intel making GPUs, dogs living with cats, 2020's a real madhouse.
Nvidia has been playing around with making CPUs for a while. Their RISC-V (V = 5) group is hiring.
NVIDIA could buy them, but they’d see little benefit.
I’m fairly certain they’ve consistently take ARM designs and stamped them out next to their GPUs for cars.
I don’t think anyone can argue that NVIDIA does great work with GPUs. But how does doing this help them in the one ARM market they are in? That’s chips for cars.
If NVIDIA had any interest in something custom they’d do more than just license a core design.
Who knows. Maybe I’m wrong. NVIDIA benefits more from ARM being standalone far more than Apple.

Apple would be fine. Would its mean their architectures might line up better for a team up? Who knows... We pray.

I'm surprised Softbank wants to sell. ARM stands to gain considerable value in the next few years.
