You mean Apple *wants* to get into gaming ? If i knew that i would have bought a console instead.

With all that on GPU, Apple will need a pretty good Mac to despatch heat.

Laptops have always had trouble due to constraints, tight encloses.

    Maybe it's only for the iMac's ?

Apple seems to have issues with heat, the MBPs tend to run hot, and the 5k iMac got so hot, that it frequently throttled. Please note that was an issue with the older version of 5k, but now on skylake it doesn't get too hot. Throw in a heat producing GPU and that might change things

iv always s preferred nvidia cards still baffles me that theydont offer and and nvidia options for their macs like they used to. i mean you could by a cmp tower with and or nvidia from its inception. and in the past thy seemed to alternate each year between and and nvidia for opus. with the power of the 10 series opus id love t see maybe a 1050 in the mbp and the 1070/80 in the iMac and maybe duel titan xp custom pub for the nmp and still offer and for the guys that want that make nvidia a build to order option or something.
