MP 1,1-5,1 NVME units that don't slow down for MacPro 5.1

Hello to all,

can you tell me about 1tb nvme units (budget € 150) that do not slow down?
that the speed is stable even after several read and write cycles.
I know that among the best there are the Samsung 970 PRO...but they would be out of budget.

I know of NONE that are below your target budget. That's why most of us concerned about that issue, and longevity purchased MLC NAND devices. I have TLC also for slower storage.

I read that this HP has TLC memory.
So it could be good right?
is it compatible with MacPro 5.1 at firmware level?

No, TLC NAND slows down after the SLC buffer is full.

SLC > MLC > TLC > QLC.

All NVMe v1.3 M.2 blades are compatible with MP5,1, people are using EX950 without problems.

all.

Just did four Blackmagic runs.

Pretty well the same in all 4 uninterrupted runs. Not 1TB but good value for what it delivers.

( WARNING : Check the Firmware revision in "About this Mac / NVMe/ " before formatting in Mac OS. the latest firmware is 2B2QEXM7 )

It will eventually slow when you exhaust the cache. Don't be fooled by the BM app. In actual heavy use it's going to slow.

970 EVO and EVO+ are TLC NAND cells, after the SLC cache is full, you get the TLC NAND real speeds.
