went to apple wtc got there at 9:10 asked an employee where the line is he said outside went out there saw no one i said cool. went back inside and started talking to a guard he said the line was inside next to the store. went inside next i hear is that they arent letting anyone camp til friday 6 am WTF i even called the store as well as 5th avenue flagship before i left. no one notified me it wasnt being allowed..jump in cab go to 5th avenue. get there to find out they arent letting anyone camp out there as of yet either. felt sick to my stomach had a shot of patron in the closest bar and jumped in an uber. 2 hours later im back home mad writing this long ass story to try and help others to NOT WASTE THEIR TIME BEFORE CONFIRMING WITH THE ACTUAL STORE YOU PLAN ON GOING TOO!

That seems odd.
Over the years the loved showcasing and displaying all the long lines and people camping out many days before release day.
It was part of their marketing and portraying a certain high demand image to the public.
Not sure why they would stop that.
Or if it's not allowed at that NY location and not for all Apple stores?
 
honesty I like that they aren’t allowing lines for the phones.

It’s ridiculous to allow people days in advance to set up shop for a phone. 6am allows normal people to get there and wait it out for a few hours. My chances just went up since I don’t see anyone arguing with me as I may get in line at 6am in queens Center.

They can't stop you from "hanging out" nearby. I think just show up at midnight or so tonight, and get as close as you can to the store, as I am sure many people will be doing the same.

PS- How about camping outside your carrier's store? Not alot of people do this, and you can hopefully be #1 as there are literally hundreds of authorized dealers in this big city of ours.
