I really don't understand this. On the O2 site is says the following in regards to existing O2 customers:
I read this as: if you've been on O2 for anything over a month or two, you can pay the price of the iPhone, have your existing contract written off, and start a new contract with O2 for the iPhone.
So I called O2 and the lady that answered agreed with my interpretation but said she had only just heard about this deal and was not 100% sure. I am with O2 through Carphone Warehouse so she said I should give them a ring too.
So I rung CW and the prick that answered the phone had absolutely no clue about the deal, I had to navigate him to the site, to the passage, he read it, and gave me the most nonsensical interpretation I ever heard that basically amounted to him disagreeing with my interpretation with a garbled stab at another.
So really, what's the deal?! I have about a year on my existing contract, I can't get an iPhone unless this deal behaves like it reads.
If you were an O2 customer or upgraded on or before 18th September 2007
You can switch to an O2 tariff for iPhone without paying any remaining monthly charges on your existing contract.
