Yeah.. some stores have an early time on them.

Seems to be a bit of a crapshoot what time your local O2 opens.

what was you expecting? a full page 3 style photograph? Its visable enought, unless ya gettin old in ya age! lol :p

Huh? Not sure what you're getting at there. I was just pointing out that the opening times seem to be a local thing - no stores I've seen (5 so far) have a sign outside for example.

my apologies, i thought you said it was a crap shoot/shot?

usually opens 9am everday.

Ahh I see.

Yeah no sign of the ones around here opening early - one because it can't (realistically), and 2 because they haven't told their staff what the heck's going on yet.

You'll get your phone at least 2 hours before me...

You'd think wouldn't you.. but what I have from them so far is 10am (maybe) from one and "We're not allowed to tell you" from the other. I haven't asked CPW (would rather avoid them unless it's absolutely necessary).

In a way I feel a bit sorry for the staff.. if they're not being told when it opens they don't know what time they'll have to be in work on Friday.. that's not a lot of notice to give an employee when you're effectively forcing them to work overtime.

I've just been into the O2 store in High Wycombe and they have a sign up about the new iPhone. The sign says that the iPhone is available on 11 July, however the interesting bit is the small print at the bottom. The small print says 8Gb iPhone only and then the usual bit about subject to terms and conditions, contract etc.

The way I read it was that it is only the 8Gb available on the 11th. Maybe I read it wrong but I ding think so.

I think you have got your wires crossed. I think the "8GB only" refers to the fact the posters say the iPhone is free on selected tariffs. That's because the 16GB isn't free on any tariff, its at least £59.

Its free on the £75 one isnt it?

The 8GB only bit refers to being being free on selected tariffs. 16 GB models will be available from July 11 as sallythemac says.

The 16GB is actually free on the £75 tariff.

It's also free on Large Business Regular User tariff, Large Business Frequent User and Super User tariffs.

Local O2 shop today said they would have a small number of PAYG iPhones this Friday.

*taken with pinch of salt*

I'm starting to think O2 are now taking the stance of, lets see how many customers we can actually get through the door on July 11th, with all this PAYG model flailing, and then we'll try and sell contracts to those unlucky few.

Then again, PAYG could be available, but I doubt it.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. You arrive eager on the day and it's "sorry no PayG" and come out with a contract.
