Hello,

I will be heading to either an O2/Carphone Warehouse store on Thursday to upgrade from my current iPhone 3GS to the iPhone 4.

As I am upgrading, I was wondering what ID I would need to upgrade.

The reason I ask is because at the beginning of this year I can remember going to Carphone Warehouse with my sister as she wanted to get a new contract. All she had to provide was debit card (she gave the sales guy her address and keyed in her PIN number). I just called O2 and they have said that I would need a passport/driving license and proof of my address.

2 big problems, I am waiting for my driving license and and I have lost my passport!

Whats the deal with this? Is O2 different with the way they operate with ID?

I would have though that as I am an upgrading customer, all I would need to prove was who I am and by me giving the sales guy my address and keying in my pin number for my debit card (so they can take £1 out and back in) that would be enough.
