zmttoxics macrumors 65816 Original poster Aug 16, 2008 #1 I am getting the hang of this stuff now and want to move onto my next project - an IRC Client. My book for objc+cocoa book doesn't cover sockets though. Can I get away with C style sockets? Or can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks! 😀

Sure, you can use BSD sockets if you want. I believe though that Cocoa has some Objective-C wrappers for networking already, so you may want to check out the documentation on the Apple site.
