It does seem like the common theme here is there are no Apps available that alter in any way the user interface the way some of the Jalibroken Apps did - be it general themes (like SMB), notifications (TaskBar Notifier, Intelliscreen), or system utilities (like Services). Obviously, Apple wants it that way (probably for stability as well as "brand image" reasons).

Bummer. I previously enjoyed these interface "enhancements". This all leads me to believe there is never any hope of copy and paste ever coming to the iPhone (unless Apple finally realizes it is missing)...

Side Note: what, on earth, could Apple's reasoning be for no copy & paste? They must have thought to include it at some point, then decided no.

There is no chance a 3rd party can implement copy & paste because it would have to be a system service, i.e. it effects all applications which is not something 3rd parties are allowed to do.

Apple's reasoning for not including it yet is that they apparently still haven't figured out a way to do it that they are satisfied with.

Makes total sense (RE the system service issue). As far as copy/paste, you'd think after years of development, then a full year of the iPhone being out, the whizes at Apple could solve this one to their liking. Ah well...
