I give! I’m returning mine tomorrow, the last day before the 14 day return period runs out. The fingerprints smudges and difficult-to-press buttons finally dissuaded me from wanting to keep it. I plan on getting the green Apple leather case instead. Sometime in the future, I’ll also check out the Spigen Liquid Crystal case.

Got mine a few days ago because it felt like the buttons would lose their clicking after a few weeks of use with the Apple clear case.

currently caseless but waiting in power support and totalle clear cases in the mail. Trying to fund the right case for travel.

Let me know what you think about the power support one, I’m curious. What color did you get ?

UPDATE: I've went ahead and decided to give it another shot hoping that the newer batches will have improvements. Right off the bat, the buttons are easier to press, less slippery and less prone to smudges. I love it and no other clear cases beats the look of it. Apple OEM all the way, baby~

From my past experience, never judge a product just from 1 batch. Always consider that newer batches might have improvements. ;)

That sure sounds interesting... anyone else able to confirm this?
I have the Apple clear case for my iPhone 11 PM, and I’m one of the few around here (so it seems) who actually like it. But I wouldn’t mind an improved version

You can trust me on that. I’ve bought this case 4 times and returned them in the past for my iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max. I just bought one again for my 11 Pro on 1/11/20 and it’s different. Doesn’t hurt to try it out and return it worst CASE 🤣

Yeah, I trust you - I was just wondering if you were just «lucky» and got a better case or if in fact there has been an improvement that goes for all the cases now. Sounds very tempting.. I’m already on my second clear case 😂

Well this is what we call the “Apple Lotto” 😂

I just find it shocking that the design flaw, the crack that occurs inevitably on the back where the bottom opening is, isn't really covered by Apple.

Part of the perk of overpriced Apple cases was amazing support but they're hands off on this one

I got a free Apple clear case from EE with my new iPhone 11 and initially I was hesitant to use (because of the reviews on here and reddit) and wanted to flog in on eBay but decide to use it anyway due to selling little:

  • Zero yellowing in 3 months of usage
  • No issues with tightness (I have only needed to take it off once...how often do you need to take it off????)
  • Button was hard to press for the first 3/4 days but now its perfectly fine
  • It adds minimal bulk and because its transparent it looks very thin
  • Upkeep is minimal because its durable, might need an occasional wipe on my jeans
  • IT LOOKS REALLLY NICE
  • I have my gym card barcode on the back between phone and case and it works fine so thats handy(before the gym card I had holiday train ticket moments which was nice :))
I've kinda fallen in love it and will probably get a clear case for future iPhones. The leather cases have a tendency to feel yucky if you happened to get oily hands but with this everything is easily wiped.

I had the Spigen Liquid Crystal for my XR and that went from clear to dark/black within a couple months to the point where you couldn't really tell I had a Product Red iPhone. Also the spigen felt sticky (read yucky) at times.

Its funny how my perception and reality varied so differently from reading posts on here and my real life experience with it.

Having said of all that: my biggest worry with this case is the inevitable crack because it does feel very constrained if you have to take it off. But I don't foresee needing to take it off unless apple releases a midnight green smart battery case

Do you happen to know when your case was manufactured? You can find it on the back of the «wrapping» it was in... the latest production date I’ve seen in my local Best Buy is 11/20. Which is a month later than the case I’m using now (which is 10/20). Any newer production dates?

I got the tech21 clear one. Pretty happy with it so far, pretty grippy too.

This one. very happy with it.
Sorry, got confused with the Gear4 case... how do you like it? And how does it compare with the Apple clear case? Size/weight/feel?

I like it a lot; pretty grippy and not that bulky. It also shows off the green colour of the iPhone pretty well.

Haven’t tried the Apple one, heard bad things about it so decided on this one in store.

I d been using the clear case today and it does get less slippery over time and it’s great for how slim it is...think I will keep this going and use it

My opinion on the clear case has done a complete 180 over the last couple months. I don’t use it at all now, and mine developed a small crack on the bottom after only a couple weeks of use. The case is way too slippery for me to use, which is funny because I didn’t feel that way at first. I’ve noticed once I put lotion on my hands, the phone becomes impossible to hold.

I’ve been using Tech 21’s Pure Clear option and that’s amazing, because it has tactile buttons similar to the ones on Apple’s official leather cases. I also recently got the Spigen Liquid Crystal in smoke, and I like this a lot more than the official Apple offering too.

Anyone else got the issue that there is a few millimeters of space between the back of the phone and the case? Is it designed to be like this? Like when im holding the phone and apply some pressure on the back, I can feel the case bends slightly. Also once it touches the phone at this spot this becomes visibly noticable and it takes a few seconds to move back.

I've always used clear cases, and have bought Apple's ever since the XR -> 11 Pro -> 12 -> 11.

With the 11 Pro, the worst thing about it is the bottom "lip" of the case will eventually bend inwards producing a poor fit if you repeatedly take it off and put it b ack on. I'm at the beach a lot, so I understand the sun probably has something to do with it, plus the sand gets in the edges of the sides and can't be removed unless you take the case off (which you can't do because of the first problem). I've even had a warranty replacement once but with time the same problem comes back for the iPhone 11 Pro case.

The iPhone 12 clear case is vastly improved in both build and quality, I recently had to go back to an iPhone 11 and got the Apple clear case for that and was surprised at how poor the 11 cases are in comparison. I'm worried about the bottom "lip" again, water and sand gets in easier from the sides, the way the case is molded/cut feels cheap, and sometimes there's slight plastic creaking when held. But even with all these problems, the Apple cases are the best of a bad lot especially when compared to truly junk manufacturers like Speck that try to approach Apple prices

I just got a Smartish Gripmunk "Nothing To Hide" clear case.
Though I like the appearance, I dislike it for all the same reasons.
Too smooth, slippery, poorly grippy edges, likely to scratch badly, fingerprint magnet.
The appearance factor diminishes rapidly as the fingerprints, smudges, and scratches accumulate.
I'll stick with the Smartish Gripzilla "Black Tie Affair", which though it ain't pretty, gets the job done in every other way otherwise.
Great case, by the way! 😀
