WHATS UP THE THAT OBTRUSIVE AD THAT POPS UP AND HIJACKS MY BROWSER WHEN I GO TO MACRUMORS?

I'll tell you right now, I do not visit sites that take control of my browser like that. Good advertising does note annoy their audience. Man I thought I was at MacPorn or something.

MacRumors, please understand that I only call this out in your best interest. Taking over a browser is really bad form. I love your site but i will find an alternative if your going to succumb to gorilla tactics like taking over my browser.

It isn't savvy advertising or business. Its cheap and annoying. It pushes people away, it doesn't attract them. Its like the 14 year old demanding attention. A fly in your face.

Please reconsider.

Sincerely.

As noted in our FAQ, please post details of the ad in our Site and Forum Feedback forum.

We don't like those types of ads either and are happy to have them removed when they are brought to our attention.

We've now moved this thread to the Site and Forum Feedback forum. We can ask our ad service to remove the ad but we need a screenshot and the URL the ad links to so we can pinpoint the ad.

Im so grateful MacRumors isn't going down that path of bad ads. I was afraid you guys would get made and block me but I had to take that chance.

I know what to do next time and will send you the screen shot and URL.

Best.

Don't like the jiggling Vimto one at the top of the page either. It's distracting enough to have to move the page to get it out of the way. :(

That's advertisement.

It can move, swish, jiggle or shake all they want, as long as they stay within the boundaries of the ad space.

It's when they "expand" to take up the page when you happen to move your mouse over it that's bad.
