I'm getting an intrusive ad that sits right in the middle of the last post on a page. As I mostly look at the digital photo forums this is a real pain. Can it be fixed?

Cheers.

I'm not seeing these ads. Can you post a screenshot?

thanks

Posted in other thread... Here's a screen shot of me trying to make this post:

Pop Up Best Buy Ad

This is the second time this has happened in the span of about three minutes.

I've clicked a thread in Forum Spy and have had this Best Buy ad pop up at the bottom of my screen. Not terribly annoying, but just something I thought I'd mention.

Happening to me too. It's happened 3 times, probably in the past 2 minutes. Like said, not terribly annoying, but it would be nice if it were fixed. :)

Actually what is annoying about it is that it is 1024 pixels wide. I typically have my windows narrower than that - more like reading a printed page. As a result the ad's close box isn't shown and it doesn't trigger the horizontal scroll bar.

Pretty lame.

New Banner Ads (bottom)

I've come back after lurking for a while to see a new banner ad - that I've never seen before.

Is this a new MR thing - or is it time for me to clear out Safari? It's very annoying because it's not "framed" like standard banner ads. It reminds me of the Youtube embedded ads - which I utterly detest.

I'm not complaining about MRs advertising (I like this site - and am guilty of freeloading) but if more ads like these continue to grow it's going to suck. Just like those stupid embedded ads on TV shows that wipe across - even IFC does it now. :(

I see this was discussed yesterday, but I just wanted to confirm the issue still persists. I'm using Firefox 3.6.12.

The ad jumping into the wrong place? Or the bestbuy ad?

I just got a ridiculous one. Surprise, it's form Microsoft.

Dear macrumors.com: This is not cool

This is not what I want to see when I come to macrumors.com

Let me know when you've got rid of it, and I'll turn AdBlock back off.

Same here. Not using any adblocking software but never seen that before.

All the more reason to become a contributor!!

(but ya, that seems a bit overboard)

I wouldn't mind contributing to the site since I have extensive ad blocking baked into my browsing setups (for reasons like the ones in this thread).
