Hi.
My Macbook's CPU has been acting weird. When I open activity monitor. I see the graph just going up and down, very fast and the stuff thats driving it up is System. But for some reason, even with the system CPU usage at 40.5% the Kernel Task is using the most CPU at 1.3% and only 4 other activities are running at .8%-1.1%. This is also causing my fan to always be on because my CPU is always working! Right now my CPU temp is 162 degrees! Pls Help!

Either you have got a great deal of on/off processes running in the background from third party software, or there is a single process there that you are missing. Are you sure there is no single process that is taking up about 35% of the CPU intermittently? I know that many Dashboard widgets can be a large draw on the CPU in odd ways, btw.

Thanks for the response. I disabled my Dashboard (Which was just ESPN and iStat) and I think it may be windowserver thats causing this, although I dont see it too often
