It's not OCD, let's just get that out of the way. That said, I agree with you, if it's not a touch screen you don't need to touch it. My BIGGEST annoyance is in the office environment when people leave post-it notes on my scree, especially since I have a desk and two displays.

Oh yes, this is a major pet peeve of mine. I had only had my MBP for 3 days when I went home for my mother's birthday. Took the computer with me since my grandmother had asked me to look something up for her and she was constantly jabbing her finger onto the shiny new screen...drove me absolutely nuts.

With a touchscreen device, it's understood that they're going to get smudges and prints all over them. Not so much with non-touch interfaces.

Haha...perfecto!!! :D

Not OCD at all ... it's too easy to see nasty, greasy fingerprints all the time. I've tried to explain that you don't need to touch the screen to my kids. It'll sink in eventually! :p

Now returning your iphone 15 times because it has a millimeter scratch on the edge .. THAT is OCD! :D

Why dont you ask them to not touch the screen?

If they keep doing it then theyre not really friends

I'd say it's OCD, unless it is the anti glare screen. The standard MBP screen like the ipad screen is easily cleaned and will not be damaged by anything touching it.

Is there an opposite of OCD? (NDWD? ne'er-do-well disorder)If there is, I probably suffer from it.

I'm very obsessive compulsive, especially about germs and such so this sounded like me when I first bought my Macbook. Three years later, there are fingerprints, lint, who-knows-what etc., all over my screen and it doesn't bother me a bit. The novelty has long worn off. That's not to say that I don't take care of my laptop; I give it a wipe down with eyeglass disposable wipes each week. In your case, demand your friends to stop touching the screen and/or buy an inexpensive clear protector....
