Dear Macrumours OCLP Community, I trust that someone can guide me to solve a mystery that I have not been able to fix. I have a late-2015 5K iMax 27” and I have been using OCLP with it for a while. The original 2 TB Fusion drive’s SSD portion died, so I put an iFixit kit in and installed a 500 GB SSD. At some point I realised that the machine is no longer recognising any USB drive (stick or even my external Time Machine). I reinstalled OCLP, doing a complete disk wipe and it worked again, but as soon as I shut down and restart it does not recognise the drives anymore, but a USB keyboard dongle works and if I press Option at restart it shows all plugged-in USB drives (USB stick and Time Machine drive), but once started it does not show anymore (options are clicked on in Finder and not showing in Disk Utility, but System Report shows USB "hubs". I also tried a reinstall with an upgrade and same story, after a shutdown and restart, it does not recognise USB drives. I did a reset of the SMC and the NVRAM. Any ideas will be welcome.

Version of OCLP and version of unsupported macOS installed?

Did you recreate the Fusion Drive or do you now have two drives - the 500GB SSD and the 2TB HHD?

Boot into Recovery and check if USB attached drives are visible in Disk Utility.

OCLP 2.4.1

I removed the old drive complete and replaced it with an SSD.

Thanks, will check this and respond, but with the Boot Picker I can see everything plugged in.

... and version of unsupported macOS?
15.7.1, but same behaviour on 15.5 that I tried as well.
So you no longer have a 2TB Fusion Drive but instead only have a 500GB SSD?
Correct, only the 500GB SSD is in the machine.

I now followed the link that you posted above and did a CMD-R restart and had the OS X utilities show, I checked DiskUtil and could see the USB Stick and attached Time Machine Drive, I then restarted and used the boot picker and then space bar to launch the MacOS 15.7.1 Recovery and then looked at the Disk Utility under 15.7.1 and could again see the two drives. Did a normal restart and voila! It works again! thanks SOOO much and stay great!
