I spoke with a UPS manager, I was told as definitively as a rep is allowed to be, that if your tracking record shows what's pasted below you will see your phones tomorrow.

I also told them the address closes early to make sure the truck comes earlier than normal.

So I guess I'm not getting my phone tomorrow? I have an delivery date of 9/24. It was originally for today, 9/23, but got pushed back because of the Import Scan. All I have is an Import Scan from 12:30PM EST. I was hoping it was going to be on that plane that flew from KY to NJ today, but I guess not. This is ridiculous.

So basically, those of us with 1:56 AM arrival scans in Louisville, no import scans, and 9/25 delivery dates are out of luck for receiving them tomorrow for early delivery?

I still don't understand how yours left KY when your import scan is right around the same time as mine and a friends. Mine is still sitting there with import scan.

Where in SoCal are you at? My still hasn't gotten the goddamn ****ing import scan. I'm so ****ing deflated at this point. I really believe I'd get shipped out today and delivered tomorrow for at least ONE LITTLE SURPRISE. But nope. Screwed again. Never preordering online again, unless I get thru with a launch day estimate. What ****ing pain in the ass and you can't even cancel the order until you have the phone.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I'm in LA County,

Express Saver which turns out was just pure dumb luck from what I can tell. Mine is shipping to my office wonder if shipping to a commercial address vs a residential address has anything to do with it?

I don't think so, I'm getting it shipped to my office and I have expedited and delivery on 9/25. I'm in Houston and I finally got my order in at 3:10am central

You do; it's called Google Image Search.

I cant speak for other areas, but if you are in NY/NJ and your phone is not checked into NJ by 10a tomorrow, it will most likely not go out. This is what the UPS manager informed me on at the least.

To play it safe, if its not in NJ, chances are you will see it thursday. It pays to be a squeaky wheel also.

What is that address modification thing?

Right. For me personally I think it needs to be 6am. The flight from KY is only 1.5-2 hours to Newark. This doesn't make sense if it doesnt come tomorrow.

Sorry, I should have clarified, just the last row counts. That modification was the manager changing delivery times so it comes in the AM.

Good point.

This is nothing compared to Christmas. World port can handle something like 2.2k packages every 17 seconds, and can turn over an entire plane to new destinations in 4 hours.

The backlog is not all UPS. We are talking about 3 planes of phones. The planes can handle 195,000 phones. So, we are looking at 780,000 phones hitting Worldport around the same time. If the statistics from the Survey Monkey site hold true, 390k of them cleared customs today*. There are another 390K that are the 9/25 crowd.

I can find data on how many packages Worldport can handle, but I cannot find a reliable source on clearing customs. The iPhone launches are unique both in the amount of packages, and a technical, engaged audience who tracks this.

UPS is pretty good at this. Both they and FEDEX have shipping logistics down to as much of a science as it can be.

There's not much we can hypothesize about this, but this seems to be the facts so far:
1- A shipment did not fly out Friday from China like it should have. Both UPS, Apple, and the Chinese government will point fingers, but the Friday flight did not leave
2- This caused the shipments to be disbursed and some left from Shanghai. I do not know packages that left China today also went to Shanghai.
3- The Shanghai shipment caused some sort of overload that became apparent during the customs check.
4- UPS should be good at working around these issues -- and I'm sure this is not the first or last time this will happen to them -- which leads me to believe Customs was not able to process this many phones today.

* Starting with the flight that came in, cleared, and left KY this morning.

Pretty much guarantee it will be delivered tomorrow.

How though? There are some people on this thread where their phones are already in NJ. I'm guessing my phone missed that flight earlier today. It doesn't make sense though because our Import Scans are all around the same time. Unless there's a flight leaving KY tonight to arrive in NJ early tomorrow morning. It's only like a two hour flight.

I just wanna know if my phone will really be delivered tomorrow so I know whether to work from home tomorrow or not. So frustrating :(
