Does anyone happen to know

a) how long these presentations tend to run, and
b) how long it typically takes Apple to post the video once the event has finished?

If it starts at 10 a.m. PDT, and ends around 11:30 a.m. (just a guess), then Apple might have the video up around noon PDT? Is that a realistic timeline?

Live Streaming costs money (is live streaming everything going to benefit their shareholders when a video available for replay is likely to generate as much hype, perhaps even more?) and they would sometimes want to give some benefits to those who attend their media events providing them a better scoop on the announcements than those who don't attend.

Did apple suddenly suddenly go bankrupt since their last live stream?

Going solely from my memory of the last couple years, it usually takes them between 3-6 hours to post the video if it's not live-streamed.

livestreaming...

Theory for why they didn't live-stream last month:
- iTunes Festival ate up all their resources.
- They had to make sure Beijing and other destinations had a working stream. For all we know they could have needed the traffic for themselves.

This month could be similar, as they are live-streaming to London and other places. Hopefully we'll get that sacred link though.

Also, woohoo, first post! I've been up 3AM/4AM the last few years to catch these things. First time I've been bothered to join these forums. I honestly think these are better to look forward to than Xmas.

I'd like to see pressure sensitive capability on iPad. Other than that it will just be a spec bump and lighter form factor.

Current iOS devices, as of iOS 3.1, can simulate pressure sensitivity through the use of private APIs with great accuracy. Apple has yet to use or publish this API though.

You're telling me! The last few years I've woken up at 3, watched the stream until morning and I'd go to school until 5pm (I'd mostly be a zombie around school. Slept through history a few months ago!) Earlier this year I did a whole 24hrs, but having now graduated means I get a sleep in :D

...I'm not crazy... *shifty eyes*

Can you really be spoiled by the no surprise Cook version of Apple?
Spec upgrades and nothing of real consequence.

Call me when they reinvent the TV, car, or hell, even the watch.

Would you want to be told the results of a sports match if it was clear who was the favoured team from the start? Didn't think so. :p

OK OK...

iPad: same price
iPad mini: from $349/£215
Cheaper iPad: current iPad mini from $329 or even $299
MacBook Pro: same starting prices but slightly cheaper SSD and RAM upgrades

So the mini will go up in price in the USA and down in price in the UK?! The current one is £269 lol.

No, I get it.. just poking some fun at the idea.
Apple's last big surprise was iPhone cases with holes, after all.

I have hard time understanding why Apple simply doesn't live stream the event.

Apple live streams have been extremely reliable and surprisingly are the most reliable live streams of any type of media/event. They should just do it for all events. :(

A company as big as Apple should be live streaming ALL of their events. To not live stream the announcement of their flagship product last month bordered being ridiculously unreasonable. I'm sure Apple have their reasons and I expect we'll have a live stream for tonight's event because it's in a bigger venue and there's more to cover.

Exactly. That's what I'm hoping for: a repeat of WWDC which they live streamed this year.
