Saw this on 9to5Mac, thought I'd share it with you all. iPhone 5? iOS 5? October 5th.? And then iPhone 4S on October 4th? AT&T 4G capability?

It reads, "We'll be back October 5. In the meantime, please visit apple.com/retail to find the nearest Apple Store."

I stopped by this store earlier today and saw the same thing. I had stopped by a few days ago to ask about a Mac repair but the employees had mentioned they would be closed during this time and would not disclose why.

I feel that the October 5th date is definitely no coincidence.

October 5th, the date they will START selling iPhone 5. (if so, would surprise everyone)

October 4 is the announcement date.

October 4 is the announcement date.

Even if it's not available for sale on the 5th, once it's announced, they will showcase it throughout the store(s) along with 'available on ...' signs.

Trying not to read into the signage too much, but it's nice to see some proof that we're (finally) close to a release.

Is this just one store? And if so, why would anybody think that what happens to be on the front of one store has anything to do with a country-wide launch of a product?

everytime an apple store has a minor or major remodel lately people think it is the foreboding sign of the iPhone 5 release date...... haven't people heard of maintenance, and the hundreds of other Apple stores around the world that are open.

If this is on the front of an ordinary Apple Store, I wouldn't look too much into it. But maybe they want reopen on October 5th for the iPhone 5? Who knows?

Is that a ATT store that's opening october 5 or a Att store that closed until october 5th?

anyway i hope it release the 5th

Or maybe they have been running secret night missions to upgrade the rest of the Apple stores in the world and only this one was subjected to a daytime upgrade.

But why the AT&T van? Are they doing maintenance in an apple store? Not saying it really means anything, but just all seems odd to me.

Just a week more and the year's biggest(most annoying) puzzle would be solved. Probably relieving(one way or the other) :)
