I see. Thanks for the tips.

Not a problem.

Hey terriyaki, any idea what those brown/orange things coming out of the watery looking stuff are? I can only think of pumpkins considering the season and the ghosts, but perhaps you know more....

I still cannot believe people use Grab for screenshots :p

The comment was directed solely at you, hopefully you didn't take it as such and took no offense, none was meant.

The keycut is "apple-shift-3" which will take the entire screen and paste it as a .png image on your desktop (in Tiger, selection in Panther). There is also a keycut for app-only image caps, and for something else....but those are near worthless

apple+shift+4 then hit the space bar. then, move your mouse on the window you want and click. it'll take only that window.
if you do it for the background, it'll do only your desktop

and apple shift 4 without the space bar you can drag and select using li'l cross-hair things.

I love you, OS X. So much better than "ctrl shift prntscrn" and pasting it into paintbrush, and cropping and saving and ohhh so many the extra steps!

*gives PowerBook a hug*

Not to be a bother, but I'm curious how other users such as 'FadeToBlack' were able to attach such large pictures while mine is so small. The limit is 244 kB, right?

What I did was once I captured the screenshot, I opened it in Preview, then saved it as a jpeg and set the quality at about half way. Hope that helps!

About time I changed. I'll have to change my OS X desktop too, soon. It's had the same one for months now. Getting a bit old...

I don't know which is more terrifying-- that red thing or windows!

either way, if that were on my monitor, I'd throw a toaster at the screen and break that baby!
and if it were a LCD, I'd PUNCH IT! breaking it! and laugh because I defeated terrifying red monster thing..

speaking of punching in LCDs, I brought my PB into the genius bar today with my broken LCD desktop. The genius was horrified, called me a jerk, and called over his friend to check out "what I did to my PB". He also called me a jerk and asked why I hate them so much. :D

/the desktop would be less creepy w/o the red eye thing
//the quote is pretty cool. :p
///I think it's the tiny pupils that scare me
////I wonder what would happen if I clicked "reduce red eye" in that pic.. Hmm.

Definitely. One of my favorites.

I spend some extra time working on that, actually. :D

You get a very black desktop :( (I tried it).

Think I'll have to work on broken glass image for my Powerbook too. No Apple Store around here though. Hmm.....

Here's mine for now. :)

Thank you for recalling those other screenshot methods. I have to retract one of my previous statements about them being useless....the window selection one isn't too bad :)

And if you hold ctrl while doing any of these... If captures to the clipboard rather than to a file on the desktop. :)

No neither have I! But I don't think a CD would look right there somehow...

::20ROGERSC::

Certainly not, the tape just caught me completely off guard. It would be like seeing a background with a VHS on it opposed to a DVD :p, just weird and it has a way of bringing back memories....funny.

Here's mine...

My work machine. Like to scare the co-workers...
