(It would also probably make him go out and by FS X!)
 
My desktop 'screenie' for October. I use an application called 'MenuShade' and also have no icons showing on the desktop, so it looks off most of the time.

Each to his own, of course, but I don't see the appeal of MenuShade. I mean, having to wait a second for the menu bar to reappear before you can use it, just for the sake of the odd times your desktop is clear and you want to stare at it without a menu?

It works instantly for me. I also use 'SpiritedAway' which hides any open applications, other than the one you are working on, it gives me a 100% uncluttered desktop all the time.

Works pretty efficiently for me, I have to say. Each to his own though, as you said.
