Why does this not surprise me? Ugh.

$2 Million???
Great idea!! Anyone want to make 14 babies with me??![]()
Yeah, this story is just so baffling to me. With 6 kids already, why in the world would she undergo fertility treatments?
It seems this "expert" bypassed crucial first steps in planning a family, like finding a caring husband with a reliable job. Real experts question the ethics of this latest multiple birth. What "expert" advice could Nadya possibly offer?TimesOnline said:THE single mother of octuplets... Nadya Suleman, 33, plans a career as a television childcare expert... Experts believe that the unnamed fertility specialists who gave her in vitro fertilisation (IVF) should not have implanted so many embryos... Nadya Suleman, who describes herself as a “professional student” living off education grants and parental money, broke up with her boyfriend before the birth of her first child seven years ago.
I don't know if it's true or not for CA, but in some states if she were to go on welfare, she's required to name the father in order to receive benefits, and the state will go after him for reimbursement. If this is indeed the case, it's going to suck to be him. An earlier ABC article here intimates that all the children have the same father.Consultant said:The fertility clinic would be responsible for the upbringing cost of these kids. The tax payers should not be forced to pay for it.
I'll bet you a fake internet dollar Oprah has a you go grrrrl , a "heroic single mom" label, and a stack of Pampers that reach to the moon ready to go.jbernie said:Maybe I can have faith that Oprah wont get involved?
Didn't you get a vasectomy??
Not nice.![]()
I guess some "celebrities" have become famous for less...
Yes, but for American doctors, isn't she just considered a really, really, really good customer? Her pediatrician would be delighted, since kids go to the doctor all the time for illness, shots, etc.
I bet that Oprah will go for it. The 'independent woman' angle she can spin from this story would be great for Oprah. Sad, though.
