Oculus Link comparability with 16”

I will be attempting to use the oculus link on my MacBook Pro via an oculus link cable shortly, and will post results in case anyone still cares.
 
Did you test Oculus Link with the mbp16 NightRaven? Which graphic card do you have?

I’ll buy a new MacBook soon and I’m not sure which graphic card I should choose for the 16” (specifically to run Oculus Link in bootcamp). Or which laptop even. Maybe a cheaper 13” with an eGPU...

Yes, I did try out the link cable on the 16 inch MacBook Pro and the results are spectacular! I have the Radeon Pro 5500M with 8 GB of VRAM.

I definitely wouldn’t recommend the MacBook with an integrated GPU as you’re running full scale PC VR games, but the MacBook Pro is definitely capable of running it!
 
I was thinking about maybe getting a 13” with an external GPU. Depending on the GPU, I should get good performance out of it. But it would cost about the same as the 16” with a worse CPU and less portability...

I’ll probably pull the trigger on a 16” soon. :)
