Does anyone know if this RAM will work in the new Penryn iMacs?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227251

The specs appear to be correct but I have read a few threads on this forum in which this RAM did not appear to work on the penryn MBP and I was wondering if there could be issues with the penryn iMac also?

this was one of the 42 reviews

Pros:

Worked like a charm the second I put it in. New iMac recongnized memory timings correclty and so far this memory was proven to be well worth the small investment.

New Egg Rocks, been buying from them for 10 years!;)

^^ Which is completely the wrong RAM for Macs. Those are DIMMs, not SODIMMs. (Also good luck on the Tigerdirect mail-in rebates. TD are infamous for long or never rebate cheque arrival times.)

I recommend you go with a reputable supplier who guarantees Mac compatibility.

even better: http://www.sigelectronics.com/PC-Mac-Hardware/Computer-Memory/OCZ-2GB-x-2-PC2-6400-DDR2-SODIMM_2

i'd buy from CanadaRam.com, CanadaRam, but well... it's $148-$170 for Kingston or Certified 4GB there... only $90 at other places for OCZ...

Thanks for the plug, but please get the prices at least close to correct We're comparing SODIMMs, not MacPro FBDIMMs ;)

Nope - you're right and I'm wrong.

I had 667 pricing in my head when replying. Although the prices on 800 are changing rapidly, it will take Kingston and some of the Mac compatibility-guaranteed brands a bit longer to adjust. All I can say (here) is keep checking.

no prob... i would actually prefer to order from canadaram.com than some random electronics outlet... and i'm not just yet ready to upgrade my ram to 4GB... hopefully by the time i am the prices will be decreased so i can better afford canadaram.com.
