OCZ Vertex 4 SSD question.

It looks as if I've finally settled on the Vertex 4 512gb SSD for my mid 2012 MBP. My only question concerns whether or not it is just plug and play, or does it need a firmware update. Does anyone have experience with this SSD to answer that question? Thanks so much.

I recently purchased a Vertex 3 and it came with the latest firmware so I'm guessing the V4 should too 🙂

It may or may not come with the latest firmware - but it *will* just work out of the box 🙂.

My Vertex 4's came with V1.3 firmware and worked just fine, but I updated the firmware before using them seriously as some updates require wiping the data so didn't want to leave it. The firmware tool is a bootable linux install and very easy to use.
