I note that when I pass my finger lightly over the home button, lightly, the screen slides down and above it is a very blurred representation of my wallpaper, AFAICT.

What is that function and what is it for, if it is a function? I have found no use for it at all.

    Thanks.

Sounds like you are just invoking Reachability: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-use-reachability-on-iphone-6-6-plus/

Thanks for the reply. Whew! that was unexpected. Sometimes to somebody whose usage goes back to OS/2, Apple can seem pretty idiosyncratic in their thinking.

So I'll give it a try, might help someone like me who has cigars for fingers.

LOL! I'm glad this was mentioned. That happens to me a lot, and I just figured it was some kind of glitch.
